Re: Need help: Absolutely cant' get any audible output
Thanks. I think I had a number of posts on this subject, because I was thinking I was facing essentially different problems. I got a response on another post that goes to answering my basic concern. It turns out that the conclusion I was beginning to reach (and fear) was really true: Zoom does take ...

Re: Zoom vs. Audacity
"Can you record both sides of the Zoom session to at least one sound file in Audacity? Most, or almost all people who try that fail. We're interested in how you did it." [clipped] Koz We have NOT been able to pull off what we've been trying to accomplish. Thought we had it was not to be. As stated ...

Re: Zoom vs. Audacity
Thanks, Steve. Let me make sure I understand: Even tho, in Windows, I have specified that Exclusive use of the device is not allowed, Zoom is defeating that? That's exactly what I think I've been experiencing. I am certainly glad to allow Zoom to do the recording heavy lifting, but I'd like to be ab...

Zoom vs. Audacity
This will be a crisper definition of a problem I described earlier, but I hope that it will be easier for readers to grasp and perhaps provide some help. I am recording Zoom meeting audio, using Audacity. It records just fine and the audio files produced are just fine. However, if we attempt to play...

Re: Need help: Absolutely cant' get any audible output
Well, I was wrong. Dang it. It turns out that when a Zoom meeting is taking place (not just the Zoom client app running), then the headphone output from Audacity goes away. When I end the meeting, the output from Audacity again appears from my headphones. I have disabled allowing exclusive control o...

Re: Need help: Absolutely cant' get any audible output
Think I nailed this one myself. For anybody else with similar issues: I had some Windows Sounds settings set incorrectly. This may help some others: 1. Right-click speaker icon in task tray 2. Select the Playback tab 3. Find the items representing your headset device 4. Set as Default the device you...

Re: Need help: Absolutely cant' get any audible output
I have noted one item that might be a hitch? SCS defines its outputs as 2-channel stereo. (Although it does allow the Sony Headset to be defined as1-channel mono, If I do that, then when I attempt to play (from SCS) a pre-recorded sound effect, it whines that I am trying to use an "unavailable speak...

Need help: Absolutely cant' get any audible output
Using Audacity 2.4.2 on Windows 10. The general picture: We use Zoom to rehearse some little playlets. Zoom insists that we specify our Sony Head sets for both input and outputs. In the Zoom meeting, we use an app (SCS Show Cue Systems) to play sound effects, which are injected into the rehearsal at...

Re: No Audacity Output Heard When Zoom is Running
You're absolutely right: I just ran with Zoom, Audacity, and SCS running on laptop, and also attended the Zoom meeting on an iPad. Audacity successfully recorded audio I played in laptop from the SCS app, and I could hear it on the iPad. When I played the audio in Audacity, it was also audible on th...

Re: No Audacity Output Heard When Zoom is Running
And in that configuration, where are you suggesting that Audacity runneth? I'm thinking second (monitor) machine - right?
