Audacity Forum

It just does not record, as if there is no signal from the mic. The green signals appear to suggest it is recording but here is nothing on playback and the recording signal bar show nothing is happening.

I am new to Audacity and have version2.3.1 on my windows 10 desk top. I have created a wav file of a backing cd and imported it into Audacity. I now want to record on top of this ( I am a woodwind player ) but it doesn't work. I have enabled mic in my privacy settings and use a basic pro sound 1 dyn...
