further research tells me that the current stable version has export flac as an option, but it is not working. The beta code version says it is supposed to not only be an option... but also work!

I'm a new user of Audacity... can't get export to work. Got the audio in ok, and labelled tracks. Select "export to FLAC" and get an error message like : "unable to export audio to ... path/fn". Doesn't seem to matter what directory I try to write to, still get this message. Export to WAV works fine...
