Re: Frequency(hz) is lower on higher engine rpm?

"Frequency, is lower on higher engine rpm?" Simply no, it's higher on higher RPM. I would globalize the sound of an entire revolution in one, since part of the sound may be affected by the structural behavior of the engine. RPM=rev/min Hz=rev/sec Take in account that engines with more cylinders pro...

Re: Frequency(hz) is lower on higher engine rpm?

Change Pitch and Change Tempo are the two effects most likely to damage the sound. Change Speed has much less distortion. It changes everything at once and doesn't try to rip the sound apart and put it back together. interior recording Interiors are designed to isolate you from the engine. Some of ...

Is your microphone directional? Most microphones are and that can have a big effect on your measurements.

It is a recording off youtube.

The interior recording starts at 5:51.

Re: Frequency(hz) is lower on higher engine rpm?

I just used the pitch change plugin to see what the pitch is over a short or medium long part of the sound which is a interior recording from various rpms.

Frequency(hz) is lower on higher engine rpm?

Why is the hz on for example 10000 rpm only 80 and on like 5000 rpm it is 120 hz?

This would mean 5000 rpm is much higher rpm than 10000 rpm. How do i calculate engine rpm from hz only and find the true rpm reading from it?

Does distortion make the reading inaccurate?

Re: Make whole sample the same pitch/frequency?

Is there are plugin that automatically and seamlessly/smoothly creates a loop of the sample by fading in/out and reversing possibly? You can make a crossfade . I'd try a crossfade of 1/2 second or so, but if the sound is very-consistent a few milliseconds may work. The sound & crossfade probably wo...

Re: Make whole sample the same pitch/frequency?

I have this audio file of the inside of a car while driving so the rpms of the engine are going up and down and constantly changing pitch/frequency. If it's a real engine recording (not synthesized) then it won't be only the pitch that's changing, but also the timbre (harmonic content), pulse rate ...

Make whole sample the same pitch/frequency?

Hey guys hope you are having a good day. I have this audio file of the inside of a car while driving so the rpms of the engine are going up and down and constantly changing pitch/frequency. I need a looping rpm engine sound for a video game that stays in the same frequency/pitch all throughout. I tr...
