Windows 10 Pro audacity 14.1

Some time ago I recorded some sound that was being played by the computer on audacity just by pressing the record button, this does not happen now.

Or do you have to do it a different way

I have used a lot of apps from PORTABLEAPPS.COM over the years, and never had a problem.#
In fact my copy of Audacity is a portable one run off a chip

I can't see why the "EXPORT THE SELECTED AUDIO" as been removed
it makes it a lot harder to split to a recording into a number of parts

I have found a cure, but I do no know what coursed it The files that had not got the Audacity Format Name -- Title -- Contributing artists etc I transferred a file into another folder, which had the Audacity Format Name -- Title -- Contributing artists etc Guess what the Audacity Format Name -- Titl...

The files were saved it WAV

if I look at other items I have in Windows Explorer, they saved the same as Audacity's format.

It is just the last bit of editing, it is not in Audacity's format

In Audacity I get Name -- Title -- Contributing artists etc
in file explorer I get only Name then date

It as worked before, both formats were the same
So what have I done wrong

I have just edited some music off tape with Audacity and in the program the layout was like this
Xxxxxx – Xxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx But when I looked at it in Windows Explorer I got Xxxxxx – Xxxx
What Have I done wrong it has worked OK
