So just to be safe I deleted both folders and tried to launch again. no luck - "Illegal instruction" again.

I found that folder, but the only thing it had in it was "presets" - another folder which was also empty. 
So just to be safe I deleted both folders and tried to launch again. no luck - "Illegal instruction" again.

ALSA works just fine, and I will check about the dev....
But does anybody know how to find out more info? I've tried audacity -v .... doesn't make a difference lol.

Hey - sorry i posted in the wrong forum.
The version I am using is 1.3.7 for i486. The issue is still happening despite a delete/reinstall.
Any ideas? I will try again to compile the source code, it didn't work before but I don't recall why.

Sorry - probably posted it in the wrong forum then.
I will check my version, but I installed this with netpkg audacity so I would assume that it's the latest version?
If not, I will shut up and go compile the latest source.

Good day! I'm running Zenwalk Linux on an old dell latitude CPI a366t with 364 MHz and 128 MB ram with 4 GB HD. I just installed Audacity using netpkg audacity - first error was a Cairo error. so I used netpkg cairo to search and install it, found it, installed it. done! but now, I start audacity, i...
