When editing LP recordings I work in 'Normal View'. I like to generate silence between tracks as this gets rid of any clicks or noise not already removed. Yes, when played direct through my player it still sounds noisy so its definetly on the record and audacity is only recording what it hears. I have logged on to try and download Audacity 1.3.2 but there are so many options I haven't a clue which one to choose. Any idea? I am using a Compaq Presario ...

Hi Koz, Thanks for the prompt reply. Yes Its a 33 (same as the others). I am using a Optimus Lab-1100 stand alone turntable plugged into the Aux Jack on my CD player then a stereo cable from the headphone Jack to my Mic In Jack on my Laptop.
