Thanks, that worked. If "quit after last" is deselected, then only the "Exit" command will quit Audacity, & the close command then closes and reopens a new window rather than simply closing the file. I still don't quite get the concept of clearing all application settings eve...

I'm just now trying out Audacity & liking it, but whenever I close a file (after exporting changed file as .wav), the Audacity window closes & I have to re-launch it to open the next file. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks for any tips -
