I absoltuly love Audacity and I use it all the time, but it's recenlty become very unstable. It works fine after a fresh boot-up, but if I go off and do other stuff my files no longer play (play bar just stays where positioned and flashes. thx much for any suggestions. What I would do is try deleting your Audacity configuration file which is where Audacity stores your preferences. You can find it in C:Documents and Settings <your_user_name> Application DataAudacityaudacity.cfg Audacity will create a new cfg file when you restart it - note that this will reset all...

Hi… I’m a long-time Audacity user who has suddenly run into a very strange bug. Details: - running v 1.37 on win xp sp 2 - I can only record when my sample rate is set 96000 hz. Up until a week ago this never mattered, but now if the sample rate is anything other than 96000 I can’t record (time line...

won't record when change project rate
... this is kinda weird, but when I change the project rate Audacity no longer records... just stays at 0.0... all ok when I change the project rate back... any suggestions???

It is probably a hardware fault with the sound card (not uncommon with on-board sound cards). If you apply the "Normalize" effect with just the "DC off-set" correction selected, then your recordings may be usable, although it does not really "fix" the problem and the sound quality will probably sti...

Waveform below 0.0
This is a probably a simple thing, but I can't find any posts on the topic. Recently switched computers. My mic now generates a waveform at about -0.1 rather than right at 0.0. Anyone know how to fix... greatly appreciate any help.
