Thank you for the reply. The solution was to simply restart my PC after I enabled the Stereo Mix recording device.

Error while opening sound device when trying to record
I want to record audio playing on my PC. I have the Windows WASAPI loopback thing selected, in my recording devices I have "Stereo Mix" selected as my default device, it is enabled and not greyed out, and the sound is otherwise working. When I click on the record button in Audacity (2.0.5)...
