Re: Audacity 3.0 fiile association bug (.WAV, Win10.)

@Chrisulrich, To associate a WAV file with Audacity in Windows 10, so that Audacity will open the file when it's double clicked, start by right-clicking on an WAV file. When the menu opens go down and click on "Open with". If audacity is not shown in the menu that opens, or if multiple incidence's o...

Re: Saving Macro Exports in 3.0.2rc01

Here's a Nyquist plug-in that emulates the old behaviour. I know the response to some (if not all) of this is a little late, but I did not want to leave your questions unanswered. Thanks Steve, You nailed it I installed this in 3.0.2rc01 and it works exactly like the default did in previous version...

Re: Saving Macro Exports in 3.0.2rc01

What is "the original file"? The original files are mostly AAC and occasionally MP3. That's the reason for WAV export for future edits if needed. The client request return in MP3. Are you just importing an audio file into Audacity and exporting it in different formats? All audio files are edited, i...

Re: Saving Macro Exports in 3.0.2rc01

I think there's probably a way to do what you want. That would be GREAT Are you applying the macro to an Audacity project, or to a selection of audio files? It would be to the entire project. By doing what I described above, it leaves the original file unchanged in the original folder while placing...

Re: Saving Macro Exports in 3.0.2rc01

What is your macro doing? Exporting a WAV and MP3 file. What do you do with the files that have been processed by the macro? The MP3 file is forwarded to the client and the WAV file is retained until further notice from the client. Therefore it is important these files return to the client's folder...

Re: Saving Macro Exports in 3.0.2rc01

Thanks for the quick replay Steve The current behavior is described here: https://alphamanual.audacityteam.org/ma ... references Yeah, I knew this in 3.0.0, but what I didn't realize was in 3.0.2rc01 Macros had been added to the list for directory locations. Saving Macro Exports in 3.0.2rc01

I know you guys have been working a way to save files to a specific directory and it seems to work well (from what I have tested) in the latest developer’s version I downloaded. The one thing I am missing though, ever since I created a Macro back in version 2.1.2, I could drag a file onto the opened...

Re: Manage Macros

My suggestion: Add a "Save" button in the left column. When pressed, any changes are saved and you will not be nagged to save changes. It would surely be better on the right as you are Saving the editing that you are doing on that current focused Macro - the Save is the final part of the editing. M...

Re: Manage Macros

Maybe, Save with no other dialog and Cancel with (or without) a dialog box Exit without saving, YES or NO. If that is not acceptable, Then maybe the single button that reads Save/Cancel . That might be more doable and less confusing. or maybe the simplest would just be............ EXIT at least tha...
