Re: Patching into one track
Awesome. Thanks! Ok, how about this one: how do I accurately paste a section of one track onto the next, so I don't shift it forward or backward in time? Example: the first minute of vocals on track one is good, as is the second minute of track two. I want to cut and paste the good section of track ...

Re: Patching into one track
A better way to put it is, whenever I press record, it starts a whole new track. I'd like to just stay on one and overwrite it.

Patching into one track
Hello, I'm fairly new to audacity. Is there a way to patch back into one track? For example, say I record 2 minutes and the first minute is good. I know I can simply clip off the second minute, but when I press record again, I get a whole new track, rather than continuing to record on the previous. ...

Re: Clipping
Thanks for all the suggestions. I will investigate them as I learn more about audacity! I realized that I could just zoom in and pick out the specific parts with clips, and fix those - select, deamplify, fix, reamplify. There's only one little fraction of a second where it clips badly. The original ...

Re: Clipping
Oh - thanks. (Duh, it's right there in effects.)
Neat how that works. It adds the extra peak and trough of the wave!
It is, of course, slightly quieter now. I re-amplified but it only went back 5.9 dB. I suppose I just have to accept that...

Clipping
Hello, I have recorded a track that I like very much, which alas clips slightly in one part.
Is there any way to edit the waveform (or something) so that the clipping sound is removed or reduced?
I'd love to be able to keep that particular track rather than re-record it.
Thanks!

Re: Audactiy with Presonus Firepod
thanks!
as far as drivers go, this download page popped up on a google search:
http://www.nodevice.com/
I assume that 'sound' is the category I need, but I'm not really sure if that's so, or what is 'trusted' content to download. Do you have a recommendation?

Audactiy with Presonus Firepod
hello, I've got a Presonus Firepod which I would like to use with Audacity. I have previously used the Cubase LE which came with it, but recently had my computer worked on and lost this software in the process. Unfortunately the CD's which came with it are in another state. I should be able to get t...
