Ok, recording is set to Realtek HD Audio Input, Playback is set to Realtek HD Audio Output.... Wait a sec... "Wave" was muted. Not sure how I missed it the first time but I unmuted and now it is working. Sorry for the newbish post and thanks for the help

I have a new Eee 1000he that I have had for 5 days. Everything has been working perfectly until yesterday. I installed audacity and then tried recording sound as it was playing in Firefox.
