And I've never had trouble with multitasking. I don't think Audacity has ever crashed or even lagged for me. If it's a challenge to make Audacity fast and cross-platform, it doesn't show (at least not here in linux land).

Oh, I'm using xubuntu (xfce). Another workspace... yeah, that's a good idea! I tend to avoid them because my machine isn't abound with memory. Oftentimes I run 'Export Multiple' and minimize Audacity. I do other stuff, which sometimes involves typing. When Audacity finishes exporting a track and starts a new one, the new progress dialog pops into focus. If I'm typing, and hit space or enter before realizing what happened, it accidentally s...
