And I've never had trouble with multitasking. I don't think Audacity has ever crashed or even lagged for me. If it's a challenge to make Audacity fast and cross-platform, it doesn't show (at least not here in linux land).

Oftentimes I run 'Export Multiple' and minimize Audacity. I do other stuff, which sometimes involves typing.
