I can't record because a red triangle appeared on the timeline with "Timeline actions disabled during recording" even though I'm not recording. I tried closing the file and Audacity but the setting seems to be stuck.
I'm using a Macbook Pro 10.13.3 and Audacity 2.2.2

Re: Static while recording podcast
No, to the one you recommended: MAC USERS The Scarlett 2i2 runs in class-compliant mode on a Mac. No driver is required. Simply plug and play. If you have previously installed the Focusrite USB driver and are experiencing glitchy audio on Mavericks you can put your unit into class compliant mode by ...

Re: Static while recording podcast
Thanks, Gale, I think updating the FocusRite driver has helped (so far!).
What should my recording level be and where do I change it?
Thanks!

Re: Static while recording podcast
Koz, It's attached. The puzzle is: 1. I made one set of recordings with static. 2. Changed Audio to Buffer from 0 to 100. A few recordings were fine. But then in the middle of a recording, the static began and continued for the next couple of recordings!? This clip is around the time where it starts.

Static while recording podcast
Hello,
I've been using Audacity just fine for a while but suddenly, there's pretty intense static during the recording. I'm using an AKG condenser mic, Scarlett 2i2, Mac 10.11.5 and Audacity 2.1. I'm making a voice recording.
I'd love any advice.
Thanks!

Re: Skipping during recording
Thanks koz!
I tried some of your suggestions including a reboot and changing one setting on my audio interface. I've been on Capitan for a while . I was low on diskspace so that might have been it. I don't know which one did the trick but it's recording just fine now.
Many thanks for your support!

Skipping during recording
Hello, I've been recording piano for about a year using Scarlett 2i2 FocusRite interface and AKG 214 mike. I'm using a Macbook Pro 10.11.5. I've been doing great but today my recording started skipping. I checked my settings with the ones in the manual and nothing seems off. I'd love any suggestions...
