I just tried running it as root and it didn't work for me, so i've downgraded back to 2.1.1 again.

I tried both those options today without success (--without-ffmpeg and --disable-dynamic-loading), i'll try again tomorrow and post the results. Thanks for the reply. That's a separate issue that a previous packaging of Audacity had with the updated soundtouch package, the new package fixes the soundtouch issue. I've used the devices toolbar in the past but i don't think that changed the freezing issue, i'll look into it when i get Audacity ...

I just updated to Audacity 2.1.2 (64 bits) today and now it crashes when i try to run it. I tried downgrading to 2.1.1 and it started up, but whenever i tried to record it crashed.
