This thread is a little stale, but for what it's worth, I encountered the same problem and found a pretty simple solution. (Actually, I'm on OS X 10.10.5, but I think this will work for earlier versions.) Quit all running copies of Audacity. Remove the Audacity folder from Applications Go to ~/Libra...
