Re: Audacity 2.3.0 update gone wrong
That update is distributed through the update manager from Linux Mint and it is still available in the repository (Linux Mint uses the Ubuntu repositories). They handle it as a stable release. That would explain why many people have got that update. A "sudo apt-get install audacity" still gi...

Re: Audacity 2.3.0 update gone wrong
I figured out by myself how to revert to 2.2.2 and did that.
I'm just going to skip 2.3.0 in the hope that 2.4 will work better.
But thank you

Audacity 2.3.0 update gone wrong
Hello, I have a serious issue using Audacity after I updated it from 2.2.2 to 2.3.0. If I try to use the distortion effect, Audacity crashes. I tried to reinstall it through apt-get, but it didn't help. Please help me how to fix that or how to go back to 2.2.2. :D I need it quickly. My operating sys...

Re: Hard Limiter gone?
The middle slider was named "Wet Level" and it controlled the output level of the clipped signal. The third slider was named "Residual Level" and it controlled the output level of the unprocessed "dry" signal. In other words, the second and third sliders controlled the Wet/Dry mix, but in a rather ...

Re: Where is the RMS meter in 2.1?
Thank you very much! The RMS setting you described was the one I missed. I didn't notice that little triangle there. I didn't expect it there, so I thought, it is a toggle to select the audio devices or something like this. The RMS one has a much better display without these confusing colors. :D I k...

Where is the RMS meter in 2.1?
Hello, since Audacity 2.1 there is a new peak level monitor. But how can I read the RMS level of the live signal now? I only see the peak level here. I'm too stupid to find it by myself.... Maybe that I'm just too stupid to read it properly. There are the colors green, yellow and red. What...

Re: Hard Limiter gone?
No. The middle slider which was controlling the hardness (or whatever it exactly did) is missing (and it seems to be missing in the new limiter). A wet/dry mix between a clipped and unclipped version I can do by myself easily. I exactly need the portion of functionality you have dropped to make it "...

Re: Hard Limiter gone?
I listened to your audio files. The "soft-hard-clipping.wav" one: I hear a difference at the half of the length. I think, the last part is the hard one. If I apply the two kinds of clipping, I don't get such high difference.... :( I can only hear the difference using my headphones. The reason for it...
