Hi Steve
Thanks for the response - hence I really should get some editing work done, I followed your advice and downgraded to the previous version.
I guess, I should let them know though.

Audacity 2.1.3-alpha-May 24 2016
Hi I was really satisfied with the previous stable version, but nevertheless just upgraded. I'm running Audacity on the newest Ubuntu-Studio release (via QjackCtl). Sadly, since the upgrade I can't save any more projects, because Audacity crashes when trying. When I start it via shell, the output is...

Re: problems with m-audio fast track pro
thanx a lot for the many suggestions aside from the ASIO controversy (that goes a bit beyond my compiling-abilities), I hope that some of the points lead me to solving the problem. At first I also wondered about the Midi items - M-Audio fast-track pro has a Midi Jack though, so that would explain, w...

Re: problems with m-audio fast track pro

in the meantime i kinda solved the problem (rather delayed it)

problems with m-audio fast track pro
Hi After having problems with a PrePen USB-interface ( http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=87727 ), I tried to activate a "m-audio fast track pro" interface via Jack. In my setting (Ubuntu Studio 15.04 on a Lenovo Yoga 2) Audacity (2.1.1.) runs more stable in normal editing using Jack...

Re: Usb PrePen
fortunately yes (24 months) - but it could take a while until I get a new one and have to get some radio shows pre-produced. so there's a good chance that in the not too far future (tomorrow for example) there will appear some topic like "problems with m-audio fast track pro". that's not meant to so...

Re: Usb PrePen
thank you for all your thought on the subject I guess, your suspicion points in the right direction - I also don't have much confidence in the mini-USB solution (at least not in that angle). I just tried to press the lead real tight INTO the socket and the light indicating bus-power flickered. I gue...

Re: Usb PrePen
I did repeat the alsamixer-query with the same outcome - I also have tried to find the PrePen before via lsusb and usbview with negative results. I hadn't used a hub - so that wasn't the cause - I changed the usb-lead an the ports (the lonovo yoga has one 3.0 and one 2.0 usb). All that didn't make t...

Re: Usb PrePen
Hi Steve
Thanx for your reply - alsamixer gives me this options:
0 HDA Intel HDMI
1 HDA Intel PCH
I don't know, if it makes any difference, but just to be shure: I use the 64-bit version of Ubuntu Studio 15.04
