I have finally recorded one side of an LP using audacity.
On playback, it takes about 2 seconds. How do I slow it down to normal?

Re: LP to HD
The default seems to be fine for click repair for the average LP but this particular one has lows and VERY highs. I was reading the audacity PDF and there is a way of fixing that but I will have to read it several times to really understand it. This USB stanton turntable is better than most and my h...
Re: LP to HD
Yes it is a WAV file and I have downloaded the trial version of click repair. It works okay but you have to experiment with it....I'm still doing that! I opened the CD and ran it through CR just as with the itune file...it is not a music file BTW. The PDF is quite comprehensive. Thanks for your repl...
Re: LP to HD
Koz, I have only the power cable and USB cable connected now. I'm having trouble with audacity so I tried "golden records" which is very simple to use. I have the digitized LP to my desktop as an itune which plays okay but there are a few clicks I would like to remove. I also burnt it to a CD. Quest...
Re: LP to HD
Koz,
I have just attempted to convert an LP to digital and I cannot get any sound whilst recording.
USB turntable direct to computer. RCA cables hooked up to computer.
I think I had the sound (system prefs) set up but I'm not sure.
Can you help?

Re: LP to HD
I didn't know MP3 causes sound damage. Does that apply if converted later?
In the stanton booklet, it says to export them as AIFF for mac and wave for windows.
I've never thought about it before but is there software for removing clicks etc from a CD?
Thanks, tango5

Re: LP to HD
Using another LP beforehand has occurred to me. And like you suggest, I don't want to damage the real thing.
I will Export it to a WAV file. Is there a particular reason for that choice as opposed to a MP3?
Thank you for your reply.

Re: LP to HD
I have read the instructions and I think I can muddle my way through them.
This special LP is coming from overseas so I can't do anything just now.
If I run into problems, I'll get back to you.
Thanks, tango5

LP to HD
OS 10.5.8 imac Audacity 1.3.8 Stanton USB T90 I hope to convert an LP to my HD for the first time. Can you walk me through the connections and prefs and anything else I need to know? Once I have recorded it, how do I transfer it to my HD? From there I can use toast to make a CD. tango5
