Re: Adjusting a voice to match another: Change Pitch, what e
Not trying to make them sound like anything in particular, just want the second voice to not annoy the listener when making the transition.

Re: Adjusting a voice to match another: Change Pitch, what e
Playing around a bit: Change Pitch Effect: FIRST VOICE B 5 (1002.273 hz) SECOND VOICE G#/Ab 6 (1633.333 hz) reduced second voice by two half-steps still has lots of bass "rumble" in the sound. Bass & Treble Effect: BASS down 12 TREBLE down 8 (?) then Compressor on the first few seconds; moved the TH...

Adjusting a voice to match another: Change Pitch, what else?
This is kinda fun, but frustrating because I don't know the term for the tool I want, nor how to locate it in the drop downs. I wish the Index had all the terms; searching many levels of the Manual is kind of hit & miss and slow. So I successfully put Loud File after Good Volume File and made a sing...

Re: Adjusting sound level to equalize 2 parts? Mixer Board?
It seems the problem is that the 3rd file is Stereo; at least after a while I was getting an error "you cannot paste stereo onto mono" or some such. So I turned my receiving file into Stereo. BUT the Pasted file put itself below the first file, instead of afterwards... So I guess I learned how to "m...

Re: Vocal ISOLATION Tutorial: Step 4 makes no sense
Also, this is a typo: "Then import the original song into Audacity again and try this Nyquist plug-in elliptice.ny to move the bass frequencies to center. " The correct filename is ellipticeq.ny. It downloads the correct file, but its confusing to end up with something similar but not the same. Now,...

Vocal ISOLATION Tutorial: Step 4 makes no sense
Seems to me that Step 3 is just Step 4 rewritten and step 4 should have been deleted ??? file:///Applications/AUDACITY%20SOUND%20EDITOR/Audacity/help/manual/man/tutorial_vocal_removal_and_isolation.html Using Audacity for vocal isolation An Audacity user (Marco Diego) posted this technique on the Au...

How To insert (paste) a clip at a specified moment?
The words "insert" and "paste" are not in the Index or Glossary. I have been able to Paste a selection onto the END of a file, but I cannot paste it into the middle of a file. I have selected a moment in time (ie there is a vertical line where I want to insert this new section) but the PASTE functio...

cut vs delete? Not defined in index or glossary
Probably one removes the selected region permanently from the file, and the other creates a copy of the selected region. I think my intuitive response is the opposite of the way it works, I'm ending up with only that a little selected bit remaining, when what I want is to remove the selected portion...

Re: Adjusting sound level to equalize 2 parts? Mixer Board?
New weirdness. I have saved a file where my first two play sequentially, at a good volume level. Now I am pasting a 3rd file onto the end of that. Except that every time I do it, it does not paste the 3rd file. It copies the 2nd file to the tail end -- at the original really loud volume level. WTF i...

Re: Adjusting sound level to equalize 2 parts? Mixer Board?
OK I got it now. I didn't know the NORMALIZE would work on just a selection. And then I had to notice that the normalization level you select is an absolute number, not a REDUCTION from the current db level. It would be a nice feature if you could select one area and have the app automagically deter...
