… can't find it following the Username -> Profile menu
Click on your user name, select "User Control Panel", then select the tab labeled "Profile"". Works here (Firefox on macOS).

Re: Re-Sampling from 96 to 48 kHz

Do I need to apply a low-pass filter manually? No you don't. Audacity's resampler will handle that. THX! Good to know! If you only want to convert a file's sample rate, you don't need to use the Resample command. The sample rate of exported files is determined by the "Project Rate" (lower left corn...

Re-Sampling from 96 to 48 kHz

(Not MacOs-specific, but I don't know where else to ask the following question, since I'm on a Mac, anyway.) Suppose I've got a lossless audio file (WAV or FLAC) with a sample rate of 96000 Hz. Now I want to convert it to 48000 Hz. In the audio date there is spectral contents above 20 kHz, which – o...

Re: ReplayGain

… when applying the effect I see the progress bar filling up and everything seems to be working fine, but it will fail midway at some % point and not apply the effect at all, I suggest to start with analyzing the track only. Next, apply the required gain change manually using the "Amplify" menu ite...

Re: 2.3.0 has lost keyboard input on dialog boxes

Update, bad news: In some menus, e.g. "Amplify", the Return key is still not working.

According to the dialog that setting affects tabbing rather than the Return key.
I know. Regardless of this setting, the Return key should always "toggle" the button that is marked as default.
A side-effect?

I should add that my macOS is 10.12 (Sierra),

Re: 2.3.0 has lost keyboard input on dialog boxes

Just found out the following: In macOS, open "System Preferences" - "Keyboard" - "Shortcuts" and change the two radio buttons at the bottom of the tab to "All Controls". (I can only guess the names of the menus in English, since my system language is German.) As a result, the Return key works as exp...

Re: Normalizing using RMS as opposed to Peaks.

I have many FLAC files ripped from CDs I have collected over the years. It is a diverse collection of both Rock and quieter melodies. I am using Audacity to get them to a common level without the use of ReplayGain, as the player in my vehicle, although it plays FLAC, no one is able to tell me if it...

Re: 2.3.0 has lost keyboard input on dialog boxes

On my Mac (Mojave) when audacity wants to change a file name because of illegal characters, it pops up a box with the suggested new name. Previous versions allowed you to hit return to accept the new name. Now it only responds to mouse clicks. I can confirm this with macOS 10.12 (Sierra), too: Pop-...

Re: Importing ALAC and AAC: Shooting yourself in the foot?

I've just noticed: After importing an AAC file, Audacity 2.3.0 does switch to 32 bit floating point, if this the default format. Don't know why I got this wrong… I'm sorry. Importing AAC into Audacity is something I don't do frequently. Apple Lossless (ALAC), however, is still affected by the bug. N...
