Sorry for not posting in the right area. The problem I was having was Audacity crashing when I tried to open application. I did finally find the audacity.cfg file. Installed version 2.1.1 today and tried to run. Installed under El Capitan on iMac (21.5-inch, Mid 2011), 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5. Any solution. One was given but, I don't see a 'audacity.cfg in the subfolder for application support/audacity/
