Mix and Render
Hi again everyone. I tried one thing, maybe I'm not using Audacity correctly. I tried the "Normalize" feature, it was set to -1dB. I figured I'd include the DC offset function. My test tracks are a quantity of 16, about 4 minutes long. With my old Acer laptop, it took forever to accomplish, one tra...

Re: Amplify and Normalize
Hi Gale, I'm away from home, so I can't give an accurate version number. I think I saved the flack file of where I began to doubt the limits of Amplify and/or what I was doing. Not sure I can post a snippet link of what I heard. Also, if I may, something strange about Normalize. It was set to -1dB. ...

Re: How does Audacity music editing compare to other systems
How do you feel Audacity compares to other systems you have to buy, like Roxio or Nero? Audio capture and basic track editing seems to work fine and is easy to get running. What about the audio editing features (such as removing hiss, pops and clicks). Is it as effective of removing noise while kee...

Re: Gang all the Gain controls together
How about if the Mixerboard had a "master" slider that ganged the sliders of all selected tracks so that moving the master slider by, say -4 dB, would cause the Gain sliders of all selected tracks to move by the same amount (-4 dB)? I missed the above, sorry! -4 dB may work. And I can understand so...

How about if the Mixerboard had a "master" slider that ganged the sliders of all selected tracks so that moving the master slider by, say -4 dB, would cause the Gain sliders of all selected tracks to move by the same amount (-4 dB)? but too much modification can be harmful If the tracks are 32 bit ...

Gang all the Gain controls together
When mixing many recorded tracks and I'm satisfied with the mix, but the amplitude peaks (VU) are too high, it would be nice to be able to gang all the Gain controls together - moving one moves them all. I was doing this with the Amplify feature (selecting no particular track), but too much modifica...
