Re: Help with recording LIVE show from soundboard
Next to the microphone icon on the upper left of Audacity is the input source, I used line in when I had my Acer laptop because that laptop had a line in and not only a microphone jack. My current HP laptop does not have a line in so I have to use a USB interface and use the line in of that device. ...

Different sound quality with headphone plugged in
I am using an HP 15-r264dx laptop with windows 8.1. It has Realtek sound. When I plug in my headphones the recorded sound with Audacity is much better than when I listen with the laptop speakers and record from the Stereo mix input with a youtube video playing. My guess is that the low impedance spe...

Re: Windows Media Player cannot open the wav file
I composed a reply with a url containing an explicit song on youtube and the post was not made here. Yes, the file size was twice (wait, it was right) because Audacity was set to 32 bit floating instead of 16 bit pcm. I recorded the song (and I will not put the youtube url again) by vevo "chris brow...

Re: Windows Media Player cannot open the wav file
My Audacity was set to 32 bit and I changed it to 16 bit in quality preference settings and didn't notice any improvement in the recorded sound. The song on YouTube was VEVO Chris Brown-loyal (explicit) ft. Lil Wayne TYGA. 4min 30 sec. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXRN_LkCa_o . I don't know how b...

Re: Windows Media Player cannot open the wav file
I recorded different versions of the you tube video's audio with stereo mix in Audacity and I did not see the small red X on the wav files and was able to burn the disk with windows media player. Maybe it was unchecking the "read only" attribute for the music folder in properties. I don't know what'...

Re: Windows Media Player cannot open the wav file
I can play the audio file in windows media player although it has the little red X but I can't delete it from windows media player--I have to delete it from the file location in the music folder. Maybe I have to use a different audio host. I am using MME. There is a selection for windows DIRECT SOUN...

Windows Media Player cannot open the wav file
I want to burn some songs with wav files I got from recording YouTube audio from videos with stereo mix on my computer. Windows media player is saying it cannot open the wav files when I try to burn them and there is a little red X next to the songs. The time duration of the songs are listed in wind...

recording sounds unnatural
I am recording audio from YouTube videos and the voice sounds unnatural (not full) in the songs and don't sound like the original video's audio track upon playback on my computer. I am using stereo mix setting in recording and the level is fine. I have windows 10 64 bit by HP. I am using a laptop an...

level anomaly when recording
My mic level has to be high when the line is mixed with it because the mic level drops in Audacity with a high line level input mixed in. I use the 4 channel audio microphone mixer from Radio Shack plugged into the line input of my Acer laptop. I am using 1.3.7 beta version.
