Re: Enabling sync-lock toolbar icon
Steve, Thank you for the swift reply. What a bummer — I use the sync-lock feature often. I also run Audacity workshops at local school and university labs, where they're likely to have an older version of Audacity. I'll have to install an older version myself so that they can follow along with my in...

Enabling sync-lock toolbar icon
When I upgraded to Audacity 2.2.1, I found the sync-lock icon was no longer in the toolbar. Now I need to go to the Tracks menu and select "Sync-Lock Tracks (on/off)". Is there a way to re-enable the shortcut icon? I've dug around in the preferences and documentation but have not found it.

Re: Static over playback
Hi, Gale —
Ah, I thought my previous report was a different but related problem.
I was able to use Audacity 2.0.6 to export my podcast without the static heard in the YouTube video above.

Re: Static over playback
Bill, Oops! Sorry for not checking the fora to see if this was a known issue. :( I'd searched on a few keywords, but apparently not the right ones. My bad. I did make sure none of the tracks started with silence, as that proved a workaround for a previous issue I was having. I just downloaded Audaci...

Static over playback
After editing a one-hour podcast, I add the intro and outro music. At this point, playback becomes unusable, as it is accompanied by deafening static. This buzz does not get exported, so I can still export the final MP3 that listeners will hear, but it makes it difficult to QA the final cut while in...

Re: First 5 seconds of Export buzzing
Gale, Sure. And if I can provide additional Audacity or WAV files, LMK. FYI, here are links to two podcasts I produced that had the crackle in the final version: http://media.blubrry.com/openapple/p/www.open-apple.net/wp-content/uploads/podcast/OA-036.mp3 http://media.blubrry.com/thepubcast/p/www.th...

Re: First 5 seconds of Export buzzing
Gale,
If I drag the draft.aup file onto Audacity 2.0.2 and export a WAV as my very first action (no playback, no track swapping, etc.), then the WAV does indeed exhibit crackle.

Re: First 5 seconds of Export buzzing
Gale, Thanks for your continued help! What happens if you restart 2.0.5, open the project then export, without playing the project? Is the WAV still ticky? Yes. If exporting a WAV is the first thing I do upon launching 2.0.5 and opening the project, the WAV will crackle, identically to the one in th...

Re: First 5 seconds of Export buzzing
Gale, My latest tests with the file I provided, in both Audacity 2.0.2 and 2.0.5, is that the static can be heard the first time I play back the file, but not on subsequent playbacks (unless I close and reopen the file). I can export a WAV with the static in 2.0.5 but not 2.0.2. After swapping track...
