your probably have too many programs running in the background while your running audacity...this program does require alot of ram when running effect especially if you are running an effect over the entire project...you can hit ctr alt del and go into task manager....kill some apps and processes yo...

i have always notice a huge difference in the quality from wav files to mp3 files i think it has to do with the lame file....if i want to keep the crisp sound i usually export from audacity in wav format and use a third party converter to conserve quality

I have been wanting to use audacity on a smaller touchscreen device for years...i have recently purchased a surface rt...unfortunately it only runs applications available in the app store...and i could not afford to get the much more expensive surface pro that runs windows apps....what would it take...
