Re: Can’t seem to reduce project size?
Okay, I think I get it. The key is “uncompressed”. Audacity has to work with WAV files, whether saved in the project, or referencing the original files. So I still have to have either the large WAV files (optionally with small project file), or use MP3 files, which will be copied to the project in u...

Re: I CAN'T ADD ANY TEXT FOR MY POST! JUST THE SUBJECT! ANY IDEAS WHY??
Had to use my phone to enter post instead of PC, which is a real pain. Using Chrome, I just didn’t seem to have any area available to type the text of my post! Weird indeed!

Can’t seem to reduce project size?
I am trying to create a project with minimal size of the project files. I think I should be able to use the “unsafe” method of referring to the audio files, rather than copying them into the project. Gaps in recovered project
I was working on linking four different stereo wav files to create a music sampler. When I tried to save this as a new project, Audacity closed with an error. I reopened Audacity, and it said the project could be recovered. But in the recovered version there are several gaps of silence. Gaps are on ...

No data files created for project
[I am using Windows XP, and Audacity 2.0.2] I had an Audacity project with several versions of some tracks (bass, drums, etc). I wanted to save some space, so deleted those tracks and resaved the project. The disc space of the xxx_data folder didn't seem to reduce. So I deleted the xxx_data folder, ...
