Up until now I have been able to record from my computer (like recording audio from YouTube). I would change my setting in the recording device to do this.

Yesterday, my computer received a Windows update and I can no longer use that feature. Is there a solution to this?

Incidentally - I am using Windows 8.

I have been using Audacity 2.0.5 for quite some time but recently it has been resetting itself back to the original defaults causing me to go through and reprogram my settings (normalizations, compressions, etc).

What is causing this and how can I prevent it from happening again?

I have noticed that my Audacity (2.0.5) is doing something I've never noticed before. When zooming in or out the window is no longer active and I have to click in the window before hitting the space bar to play the track. I use it to record narratives for audio books, and I produce a daily syndicated radio show. I was trained with ProTools and Audacity runs circles around it in some respects.
