I was using a headset with a microphone, and I also took that off and used the mic on my laptop. All the settings were what they should have been, and changing them reproduced the same effects-a very slow playback.

So when I opened Audacity to record tonight, it did something it hasn't in the almost year I've used the program. It slowed down my recording, which almost doubled the length of my episode!
