Thanks, Steve. That explains it. The turntable does have a gain control, located on the underside of the turntable, which should help me adjust input levels. (I wonder if that was designed with inconvenience in mind!Audacity can not control the input level from USB devices.

I am having a perhaps similar or related problem. I can adjust the input level slider, but moving the slider has absolutely no effect on the input level of the audio I am capturing. I am running Windows XP, have a Soundblaster Live 24 bit sound card, and I am capturing the audio from an Ion USB turn...
