Audacity has no audio output [SOLVED]
Hi, I was using Audacity 2.0.5 with USB headphones to edit some files when the audio output ceased. I tried changing to the built-in speakers, no joy there. Neither did rebooting help. I then uninstalled Audacity and installed 2.1.2 using Ubuntu Software Center. This didn't help either. Thinking tha...

no sound on playback
I'm running audacity 2.0.0 (unicode) with ubuntu 12.04 on a samsung rv511 laptop and an asus xonar U3 external sound card. This setup had worked OK on 12.04 and on 11.10 until the other day when as I was editing a large mp3 file, I lost the playback sound. When I run the file on audacity, the output...

Re: Problem installing audacity on ubuntu 10.04
Thanks for your prompt reply. I'll follow up your suggestions re the library files. It looks like the only way to go.
Nevertheless, it is surprising (and a little misleading) that audacity remains on the ubuntu repos in an essentially broken state.

Problem installing audacity on ubuntu 10.04
Hi all, I've been using Audacity 1.3.12 (beta) for a couple of years, installed on an desktop box running ubuntu, current version 10.04. All well and good, nice and stable. But recently I tried to install Audacity on a laptop, also running 10.04. But I get this output. ~$ sudo apt-get install audaci...

recording volume slider not sliding!
Hi all, I think this is a simple problem, but I may be wrong. I'm recording audio files for a voice over application. The recordings have way too much background noise but the recording level slider is maxed out and not moveable (tho the ouput volume slider does work). The recording setting is mono,...

Problem eliminating silence between 2 MP3 files
I've got this problem with 2 mp3 files. They are separated by a quite brief silence (about 1sec) which I would like to eliminate, so that the second file starts playing immediately after the first. Just to give some real life meaning to this, the two files are the 3rd and 4th movements of Beethoven'...
