yeah it was being recognized by windows, there's a "panel" that is installed with the sound driver and it shows whether or not is picking anything up. It works fine with wavepad sound editor but i rather use audacity so im frustrated. I will try to rescan for it though and see if it can recognize it

i am trying to use an Akai Pro EIE (electronic interface expander), downloaded the sound driver and everything... audacity wont recognize or discover it so i cant use it. how can i get it to be seen by the program so that i can select it as my sound driver???
