Re: Export Multiple Issue with MP3/Project Rate
Wiki Feature Requests has Invalid sample rate dialogue: Add checkbox "Apply this rate to any remaining conflicts" (checkbox state is stored in .cfg) and/or add checkbox linked to Warnings Preferences "Don't warn again and always use highest rate". (5 votes) Do you want to add your vote to that, now...

Re: Export Multiple Issue with MP3/Project Rate
When using the export multiple function after I have ripped an album that I have recorded at 96kHz saving to flac works fine. When you go save as MP3 it prompts you for the Resample rate. That part I am fine with BUT since i am exporting multiple tracks there should be a checkbox or something that ...

Project Rates and Recording
Does it matter when I record what the project rate is on when I record my vinyl? I learned that I can change the rate when exporting out to MP3 to avoid a dialog box, so I was wondering if it mattered what it was set for to begin recording.

Re: Export Multiple Issue with MP3/Project Rate
Dealing just with the sample rate question (which was what we were originally talking about), look at these two waveforms. What is the difference between them? tracks000.png The first has a sample rate of 44100 Hz. The second has a sample rate of 96000 Hz. Both tracks have a sine wave that has a fr...

Re: Export Multiple Issue with MP3/Project Rate
If I record an album at 96 kHz, I am ensuring that I have all the information I can possibly have within the recording itself. If I want any other format in the future I can utilize that file to create the other files ensuring accuracy for those as well. A good plan, but just be aware that if you c...

Re: Export Multiple Issue with MP3/Project Rate
No harm in doing it the other way around either is there? In reality, a sample rate of 96 kHz does not really gain anything more than bigger files and a greater chance of the computer "dropping" a few samples. Below 44.1 kHz, the sample rate is very important because it determines the upper cut-off...

Re: Export Multiple Issue with MP3/Project Rate
It won't mess up the FLAC save right? FLAC can handle 96000 Hz, so if you want a 96kHz FLAC file, leave the project rate at 96000 for the FLAC export, then change it before exporting as MP3. Audacity uses the "Project Rate" whenever exporting. The problem with MP3 comes because MP3 has a maximum sa...

Re: Export Multiple Issue with MP3/Project Rate
I will try switching the project Rate before I save the MP3 files and see what happens. It won't mess up the FLAC save right?
