Indicators of magnification

I'm editing out intermittent coughs during a lecture and frequently using Cmd-1 to enlarge and Cmd-3 to reduce.

Is there a visual indicator on screen showing the current level of magnification?

Is there a short cut to jump back the previous level of magnification?

Are there recommended procedures for editing out coughs? Right now I'm enlarging sound wave to the point I can isolate a portion that comes close to aligning the start and stop. I'm very new to Audacity and also new to sound files in general. Can someone point me to a primer for the basics of Audacity's file structure? I've noticed there are hundreds of .au files added to my hard drive in four distinct groupings within a "data" folder for every .aup file, the editable file....
