my operating system is W7. I have been using audacity (v2) to record podcast by plugging mic directly into usb port on laptop, now i have an external soundblaster sound card, i plugged the mic into the sound card and plugged the sound card into the usb port on my laptop. now i can't record anything....

i am a new user, version 2, i am using a usb microphone to record a podcast, i am using the soundcard that is installed with the laptop, i have no idea whether i am supposed to select "mono" or "stereo" when i am recording my voice for the podcast. Thanks for any help. Lewis

i am a new user of audacity 203, i recorded a podcast,i need to remove about 30 seconds and i cant get delete to work, i highlighted the section i want removed and i hit delete, i also tried control x, i can't get it to work, what am i doing wrong thanks, i have windows xp
