Re: Workflow Problem - Please help me correct.
You have to do this by listening. As much as we would like it, there's no button you can push to make it perfect. The blue waves and the bouncing sound meters will only get you in the ballpark. They won't produce a finished, balanced show. Sounds like sage advice. It does help color my approach. Th...

Re: Workflow Problem - Please help me correct.
Thanks for your reply Doug! The basic problem is - Normalization works on peaks but the perception of loudness works on the average volume (and the frequency content). Succinctly put. Got it Doug. Thanks! The general procedure would be: 1. Normalize everything. This gives you a starting point . 2. C...

Workflow Problem - Please help me correct.
Hi, I'm working on my first video program consisting of a dozen or so sections for which I'm using Audacity as my audio editor. Results produced different sound files with different loudnesses and show my workflow to be flawed or incomplete. Would anyone be so kind to critique? My Recent Audio Workf...

Re: Need Help Fixing Clipping
Again, I'm new at this. I've been trying to fix distortion in some recordings for quite some time now. A little bit of guidance from a more experienced person would probably help. Here is a very brief (one second) sample of a problem section that I've been trying to repair: http://www.hollyhouse.org...

Re: Need Help Fixing Clipping
Here is the install screen that presents when restarting Audacity. Note that Lisp is first on the list. https://origin.ih.constantcontact.com/fs156/1103849957219/img/66.png I simply click "ok" or press enter and Audacity ticks through each item on the list. I interpret this to be installing behaviou...

Steve,
I see that I never did thank you for this reply. It's a good one and clear that it took you some effort.
Thanks,
BillyB

Re: Need Help Fixing Clipping
Upon further inspection, I did find at least one distorted "s" problem with sibilance which leaves me even more interested in getting "lisp" working.
Looking forward to hearing from you on the install problem.

Re: Need Help Fixing Clipping
Hi Gale, Thanks for your reply! So did you try Clip Fix for the more damaged area? Yes, I did. It didn't seem to have much effect. I did get it to round out the top of one of my distorted wave forms but there is still problems with it. You can also zoom in to almost where you can see the individual ...

Re: Need Help Fixing Clipping
Koz, Thanks for your reply! I thought I responded the other night but I don't see it here. I think you touched on my problem. I definitely placed the lavalier lower on the chest than your picture would indicate. My placement was rather consistent with Audio-Technica instructions but my troubled resu...
