Koz--Problem "solved," using your hint--in Sys Prefs > Display, changed 1600x1200 >800x600, then BACK again. Main window now stays inside visible screen. Thanks for help! --mjb_nemo

Thanks for quick reply. But there seems to be another issue. The "Hide/Show" sequence changed nothing. And the setting for my monitor seems to be in sync; 1600 x 1200 is the monitor and that is what the preferences indicate, too. Any other ideas? --mjb_nemo
