Thanks for replying Koz. Yes, the wav file is in that format. Have spent all day looking for a fix. The recording is from a vinyl record if that makes any difference.

can't burn to cd
my recording plays great in windows media player, but i can't burn it to cd. i get an error message - "cannot detect length of file". The length shows in audacity but is not exported (wav) to media player. please, how do i fix it? playing the track first doesn't help, although it does show...
