Re: distortion and failed recording
Yes, the item in red is a cut and paste quote from an email from ION tech support. Also note it states Audio codec in MAC os versions 10.4.11 to the current, so it's still a problem that's not been addressed. And yes, I agree with you that it's no way to "fix" things. In a perfect world you fix the ...

Re: Volume issues- clarification needed- Audacity and ITunes
Yes, I made it through all that and for the most part got CDs that are Ok, (except for a few glitches like not checking all items on a playlist so it burned only partially.) Fortunately I'm trying a lot out on a CD-RW so I don't waste a lot of CD's. I just wanted to know if I'm spinning my wheels wi...

Volume issues- clarification needed- Audacity and ITunes
I am new at this so bear with me. I'm transferring LPs to CDs. Using beta Audacity and Mac Itunes. My steps are: recording, cleaning, normalizing, labeling, exporting multiple files as wav files, then sending them to Itunes for eventual burning to CD. My goal is to have the Cd play different tracks ...

Re: distortion and failed recording
Repeat of what I posted on another thread: I called ION and they sent me this information: You may need to downgrade your USB audio codec. There is a problem with the USB Audio codec in MAC os versions 10.4.11 to the current, the problem is users will experience static, anywhere from 45seconds to 5 ...

Re: distortion after 5 min of recording via USB Serato?
Nothing of what has been suggested seemed to work for me. I called ION and they sent me this information: Y ou may need to downgrade your USB audio codec. There is a problem with the USB Audio codec in MAC os versions 10.4.11 to the current, the problem is users will experience static, anywhere from...

Re: Inaccurate Length on a .mp3
I just found a solution! Export project to aiff (or other Itunes compatible format) Set Itunes preferences to import using MP3 encoder. Then you right click on the AIff file (or whatever format it is) and it gives the option to create an MP3 version. That Itunes conversion DOES `show the proper leng...

Re: Inaccurate Length on a .mp3
I am having the same problem. I'm using Audacity 1.3.6 on an Intel Mac Tiger. When I export some .aup projects (cassettes that will go to CDs) to MP3 format using standard preset, the recording length of say a 45min item reads in ITunes as a 2 or 3 hour recording. It's baffling as the recording is s...
