how do I start the overdub vocals on an existing guitar track? The recording starts at the end of the guitar track

would like to record voice on one track and guitar on a second. how do I do this ? where do I start?

I have music files I created in audacity. The songs have a .aup extension. I should be able to listen to the song in audacity.
