No, from the start of the recording. Its not always the same time into the recording and on occasion it does not occur. I am recording from a studio type set up, Mike, Cd and Dat tape inputs to the mixer then into a G5 Mac with 4.5gb ram. Audacity tells me that I have 162 hours of recording time lef...

No the distortion runs on for the whole recording. It is impossible to detect it in the recording and you cannot notice any change in the wave form. I am recording from a studio type set up as if broadcasting direct to air. I am not constructing the track from 'bits and pieces' it is just a non stop...

Playback Distrortion
I am trying to record a half hour radio program. Audio is perfect (Voice and Music) for about 9 / 10 minutes on playback then light gravel starts and quickly builds up into unusable distortion. Same thing happens with Soundtrack Pro. What am I doing wrong ?
