Thanks. Now I got it working. I can hear it if I have both ''Start Monitoring' and 'Software Playthrough' selected.
For the device, recording has to be set to USB Audio CODEC. If you plug it in after you open Audacity, you have to close Audacity and re-open it, and then it'll show up as an option.

Record directly into Audacity from external audio recorder.
How do I get it so I can play a recorder that's plugged into my iMac and then Audacity records the audio as it's being played? And how do I get it so I can hear it playing as I record it? I got two different options to try. UCA202, which is right next to the recorder, and a Male to Male Cable, which...

Re: No audio recording.
An Olympus recorder. On my old iMac, connecting it to the computer via the Male To Male Stereo Audio Cable worked just fine, so I'm guessing the cord just might not work with UCA202.

So how can I get the audio with out having to massively increase the volume after recording it, and how do I remove the static? On Noise removal, does it remember what it learns from past noise profi...

No input jack support in current iMACs
My 6-year old iMAC had an input jack that, with a Male to Male Cable, let you record from playing an external audio player in to it, while the current iMacs don't have input jack support. Is there a way to input audio from an external recorder, directly into the iMac and Audacity other that by just ...

Listening to what Audacity is hearing, when not recording.
I got an audio recorder plugged in to the Mac and playing, and I got it set up so that when it's recording, I can also hear the audio. But when it's not recording, I hear nothing. Software Playthrough is marked. When I also have Overdub and Hardware Playthrough marked, it's the same. How do you get ...
