WAVEs may have been a red herring.
I completely uninstalled WAVES suite and Audacity still crashes.
OK, it was a Source Connect 3.7!
Removed it and it starts just fine...
Sorry, hopefully this will help someone else.

Dang, sadly I can't get far enough to disable them because I get a crash on startup. I updated to 2.0.1, same thing, crash. I trashed the Waves folder in Applications, same thing. Remove plugins from A2.0, not other apps
I have a huge suite of WAVES plugins that load into Audacity, and take up a GIANT amount of memory. Even with an SSD it bounces on the dock for 30 seconds each time I load it. How do I stop them from loading into Audacity without uninstalling the plugins so I can still use them with other software? ...
