When doing "Export Multiple", and relying on labeled section names, is it possible to append some common text to the end of each filename and mp3 tag?
I'm using Audacity 2.3.1 on Windows 10.
Thanks....

eliminate peaks in live recording
My main use of Audacity is to post-process live recordings of lectures, made with a "handheld" wav/mp3 recorder (Zoom H2n). During the recording, there are invariably peaks from a laugh, handclap, recorder bump, etc. My usual approach is to search out the peaks, manually decrease their amplitude or ...

change balance between tracks
With Audacity 2.1.3 on Windows, how do I adjust the balance between tracks a bit? I use the Normalize function with "Normalize stereo channels independantly", but if I want to bump up the left-channel a bit more, how would I do that. The pan control on the left side does that of course, but I'm thin...

Mixing 4-channel files from Zoom H2 into Stereo
On my Zoom H2, I accidentally recorded 4 channels instead of stereo. I'd like to use my Audaicty 2.1.3 on Windows to mix it back into stereo. The files I have are filenameMS.wav and filenameXY.wav I'm not sure if that meant the mic switch was set to "4 channel" or "Mid-Side" Any advice on how to mix...

Re: can't find "Libraries Preferences" to add lame [SOLVED]
That does seem to be the case: "Libraries Preferences" removed after installing using "apt-get", but it finds lame ok and exports an mp3

can't find "Libraries Preferences" to add lame [SOLVED]
Running 2.1.2 on Mint 18, I installed lame, but now I can't find "Libraries Preferences" in the "Edit Preferences" menu so I can point to it.

Re: setting recording level to avoid over-driving
I don't know... I just start Audacity recording, then start the streaming audio, and it works. I found that with my Playback Volume set to about 75%, I didn't get any over-driving. Then used Normalize to get the recording a little nicer, and the result is better than I had before. True that the orig...

setting recording level to avoid over-driving
When recording streaming media on my laptop (with built-in internal sound card/chip), I initially just took all defaults, but noticed the recorded waveform showing signs of being overdriven. So I'm guessing I have to pre-record, and set the levels to something acceptable. "Recording volume" with mic...

Re: low resonance in live recording
Thank you both for the advice. I'll try these methods out this weekend and let you know. This was a recording of dinner Jazz with Piano, a delightful singer, and myself on Upright Bass. My Zoom H2n recorder on the closest table to us, and a Bose Compact for sound. Lots of audience noise of course, b...
