I have DDR1 ... all i want to do with this computer is record so as long as I can do that im good.. my CI1 will work with vista or xp and im really broke so probably the best thing for me to do would be to install vista or xp for free im just not sure what one would work better with this program wit...

OK so I went to the store and the type of ram I have is so old they don't carry it and most likely I would have to special order it so what would be better windows vista or xp for running this program with my computer?

ok so i have turned off Norton and the internet and it still has the same problem i went back to the store and exchanged the steinberg unit for a new one and it has the same problem replaced the mic and cord so is my computer even good enough to run this program? here is the system specs, sorry I'm ...

OK I added audacity to be excluded list from Norton and it still has the same problem

is their a way to make Norton stop inspecting every file?

my computer is a pentium 4 3ghz 2.99ghz, 2gb ram, 64bit,

and yes I am using Norton

I'm not really sure what applications and processes are essential but I turned off most of them it did not make a difference

Sound activated recording is not on, yes their is no power hub the CI 1 gets all its power through the usb cable that is plugged directly into the back of my computer i have tried switching usb ports but it dosent seem to make a difference

their is no pattern sometimes it happens twice within a few seconds and other times it wont happen over a minute
