I have a 325G external HD. Is that preferable?

I reset the preferences, but the Export process died after 12 seconds.

They're all recordings of vinyl LPs, with no edit to the metadata.

I spoke too soon. It stopped working again. It failed right after I loaded in FFMPEG. I thought that file might have caused my problems, so I deleted it. Audacity still wouldn't work.
