me again: I've been playing around and realised that the effects cause shutdown only when I use them on a copied and pasted track. when I use them on an originally recorded track, the effects work fine. the only other things I had added were the VST bridge and two effects (freeverb and a telephone effect), as well as the LADSPA package.
Tried the fresh install, have not re-plugged any extras, still no joy! arrrgghhhh!

tried deleting freeverb, used gverb... no joy - audacity still encountered a problem and shutdown. previews of effects work fine though (as they did before). Any other suggestions? Anyone else encountered this problem?

Hi, new user getting to grips with audacity. all was fine with early recordings until I downloaded freeverb and stuck it in the plugins folder.
