I have a file converter and I changed it to wma format and I still get the same result

I recorded my band on my phone and I want to split each song into seperate tracks . my total recording is about 20 min long but when I load it on audasity it makes it about 4 sec and it sounds like a squeek. I cant figure out how to fix that...oh yeah I got my audasity from the internet not sure wha...
