Re: Dj and Record at the same time with my KAOSS pad
Thanks so much for the tutorial!!! http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_recording_computer_playback_on_windows.html I would never in a million years have figured out where to find/how to turn on this "hidden" stereo mix device to play and record at the same time. Seems pretty sketchy for ma...

Re: 1/4 Insert Cable question
Thanks! I figured they probably were the same thing - just with different connectors. Every other description online of 1/4 Insert Cables say they are "specially designed to 'recieve' signal in one direction and 'send' in the other". I didn't think there was anything necessarily special about these ...

1/4 Insert Cable question
Forgive the newbness. I know what an insert cable is technically for. Is there any reason you couldn't use one as a "stereo trs splitter to left and right ts" cable? I want to send the signal from a stereo 1/4 output to a stereo mixer channel with left and right inputs. Thanks.

Can +5v from a smart phone mic jack damage an Aux Send?
I recently tried to use a computer headset microphone to record into a mixer. After getting tons of help from the guys on here, learning A LOT and spending lots of money and time, however, I decided I had reached the point of diminishing returns and had to give up. Ultimately my goal was to be able ...

Re: Problem using PC headset mics with a Yamaha audio mixer.
Ok gave it a try. I ended up twisting the red and white together and treating them as Tip. I put the extra 10k resistor and everything else where it was suppossed to go. No sound at first but I wiggled the connections and got a loud POP and peak lights on the mixer. I assume something wasn't connect...

Re: Problem using PC headset mics with a Yamaha audio mixer.
Quick question about 1/8 in leads. Instead of ruining the cord on my headset/mic, I'm using a 1ft. long 1/8 female plug with bare leads to wire into my plastic circuit strip as I discussed earlier. It's a stereo cable which means there are 3 wires: red, white and green. I know all I need for the cir...

I'm about to take a whack at this. Been sitting on the parts for a while and finally have some time. Should have some updates soon.

Re: Problem using PC headset mics with a Yamaha audio mixer.
Awesome! The drawing answers my questions. I'll take a crack at it. By the way, I had an even older (fried) power supply collecting LOTS of dust. I took everything out of it and it seems like the perfect little metal box for mounting three circuits in. :) Its already got a couple of small holes, som...

Re: Problem using PC headset mics with a Yamaha audio mixer.
Thanks for clearing up the wattage and terminal strip questionsis. Makes sense. <<<The job of the (2.2K) resistor is to bring the 5 volts down to about 1.5. Anything you do over that is pushing it.>>> & <<<The voltage on both sides of the 2200 resistor goes up. The resistor doesn't just soak up the ...
